Guerilla Gardeners Bulb Planting

Dig for Balcombe

This November, we’re calling on everyone to pick up a trowel and join our modern-day Dig for Britain! As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, it’s the perfect time to plant daffodil, tete-a-tete and tulip bulbs — which will burst into colour come spring.

Every bulb planted is a promise: a bright reminder that even through the dark months, life stirs beneath the soil. We have over 2,000 bulbs to plant, so we really do need volunteers.

First sessions are planned for Saturday 8th November at 10am – verge planting.

There is a second session on Sunday 9th at 2pm for the planters at the railway station and throughout the village. There are 18 planters in total.

For both sessions, please meet at the top of the steps to the railway station on London Road. Other sessions are being planned over the remaining weekend days if we still have bulbs.

So, pull on your gloves, grab a spade, and make this a season of sowing hope. When spring arrives, we’ll stand together in fields of colour — proof that when Balcombe digs in, brighter days always bloom.

No experience necessary.
