Balcombe WI Art Masterclass

The very enjoyable and relaxing WI Painting by Numbers meeting might at first thoughts seem quite a childish and perhaps simplistic and uncreative activity. However, we were following in the footsteps of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci who assigned sections of walls and ceilings to their students to paint, pre numbering them to ensure the correct colours.

Our members could choose to use acrylics, watercolour, pastel or colour pencils to complete their chosen picture. Members chatted and painted with a final show of their work. Some following the numbers, others such as Margaret W. completing a more colourful version of the Mona Lisa. We hope to have another similar session later in the year, visitors are welcome.

Our next meeting is on 3rd February 2022, a talk entitled “Cleopatra”.
