History Society – Exhibition

‘Putting Balcombe on the Map’

Tony Perkins’ presentation will include information and illustrations relating to Balcombe maps, and how the village has developed, along with a focus on Lady Denman and the Women’s Land Army.

Amongst the items available from the archive will be a new volume, by Tony, on the history of Balcombe Place, and a piece by Colin Burnham entitled ‘The day the train came by and demolished the platform’!

The Exhibition will run from 10 – 4, and there is a modest entry fee for adults of £1 (cash only, please) This is your opportunity to see some of the archive, so we hope you will be encouraged to come along. Children and well-behaved dogs are welcome.
