ABOUT YOUR SCHOOL
Welcome to the Balcombe & Lindfield Dance School where your child has the opportunity of learning ballet, tap and modern dance. Children from the age of 2 years are offered a fun introduction to the world of dance and encouraged to perform using familiar nursery rhymes, children’s stories, props and costumes.
Students can perform at various local fairs, care homes and pantomimes and dance on stage for our Open Day.
Students from the age of 4 upwards prepare for our Rainbow Awards and Examination Session which is usually held at the end of the Spring term.
Nikki Gower is a member of the internationally recognised dance organisation, the National Association of Teachers of Dancing Ltd, which ensures that the highest standards of dance are maintained.
Nikki qualified to teach dance in 1985 having trained at the Elizabeth Wood School of Dance and has been teaching for over 25 years.
This is the Dance School’s 18th year.
The Balcombe Dance School was formed in 2003, expanded to Lindfield in 2004 and again to Haywards Heath in 2016.
All staff are fully qualified, insured, First Aid trained and DBS checked.
DANCE SCHOOL UNIFORM
New leotards, cardigans, tights, socks and shoes are available for sale in class. All Classes wear pink ballet and black tap shoes.
Pre-school : Pink leotard with attached skirt
Reception & Yr 1: Aqua leotard with attached skirt
Years 2 & 3 : Burgundy leotard and georgette skirt
Year 4 + : Black leotard and skirt (leggings from age 13)
A second hand exchange service is offered free of charge (for items in good condition) or items may be purchased for £5. Students should have the correct school uniform and hair must be neatly fastened, in a bun where possible.
TERM FEES
Class fees start from £5.00 per 30 minute class. Terms are usually between 10 and 12 weeks and fees are due by the first day of each term (with the exception of new students who may pay for the first class only with the remainder due if they wish to enrol for the term.
