Scouts, Cubs and Beavers

Balcombe scouts, cubs and beavers are affiliated to The Scout Association.

Details of Meetings

Weekly meetings are held during school term time in the log cabin on London Road.
Scouts on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 8.30pm (sometimes 9pm in summer).
Cubs on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm.
Beavers on Thursday evenings from 5.30pm to 6.45pm.

Activities

Scouts go on hikes, night hikes, camps. They learn about orienteering, pioneering, games etc. They attend the St George’s day parade and Remembrance day.

Cubs go on weekend and week-long camps, and have an adventure week. They learn about absayling, quad bikes, orienteering, map reading etc.

Beavers have fun while learning songs, games, skills (including knots), treasure hunts etc. Their motto is “fun and friends”.

All groups take part in fund-raising events. Money raised is used to maintain the log cabin, and donated to charity.

There is a Xmas party.

Membership

Scouts are aged 10.5 to 14.5 years, cubs from 8 to 10.5 years, beavers from 6 to 8 years.
New members are always welcome, and have a free 4 week trial period.
Membership is £25 per term plus uniform costs.
